Parent Teacher Conference
Today was a milestone of JMS and I's parenting life. Jack's first parent teacher conference. I don't think I have written a post about how much I love Jack's school, but I do. It is great, and I love everything that he learns there and everything about the curriculum. It is legit, but not in a psycho competitive way, just a good wholesome learning way.
When we scheduled our time earlier this week I didn't think twice, but as I was driving to his school today I was kind of nervous. JMS and I sat down with Miss Debra with much anticipation about what she was going to tell us. It was such a productive 40 minutes for us to learn more about what Jack is like when we drop him off to when we pick him up. He is right on target with milestones and all the things we love about Jack, his teachers do to. Some of the comments:
"Jack is very lovable, he will just randomly come up to all of us and give us a hug." Yay, I want our baby boy to love, love, love everything and it makes me happy to hear this. One of my favorite things right now is the feeling of him running into my arms and wrapping his little arms around my neck.
"Jack sometimes falls on the way to get something he wants, it is like he wants something and just has to get to it". That comment got a laugh out of John, and an eye roll from me as I certainly would agree he might get that from me. For the good or the bad of it.
"Jack loves to eat, he will eat whatever you put in front of him. Except peas and carrots, and he can not be tricked if you try to secretly put them in his mac and cheese." Funny growing up my grandmother always use to tell me what a good eater I was, the difference with Jack is like his father he can probably eat whatever he wants and still look lean and toned.
"He gets very focused on his tasks, and when it is circle time, and when we read books he loves to read" Focused, hhmmm John all the way. He is going to be a great athlete.
"He is really sweet with all the babies, and makes sure to be gentle when he is around them" Big brother in the future?
"He likes to help out around the classroom, kick the ball, play basketball, and is really starting to gain a strong vocabulary." Well rounded I would say, I like it!
"Jack knows when he is doing something wrong, and will look at us and smile before stopping whatever it is he is doing." I knew that little poop understands me when I say get off the couch!
Overall he is a sweet, happy little boy. Sounds like our guy, not going to lie I might have had a few moments of mom gushing. It was such a fun experience and I look forward to many more years of great reports like today! I am so proud of our little student already.
