Watching the news over the past few days and seeing the destruction that Hurricane Sandy caused has been both upsetting and uplifting. I feel horrible for all of those affected by Sandy, friends in NY, colleagues in PA, and family up in the Northeast without power. While in the face of tragedy and destruction their is sadness, it is also a time where I believe the human spirit is most alive. It reminds us all of how lucky we are for the things we have, and the realization of how quickly things can turn south due to circumstances that are completely out of our control. Throughout our history our country and fellow citizens have come together to help one another through difficult times, and that With that said remember to enjoy and appreciate the sun shining from above wherever you may be, and to pray for those that are in need, and hope for a fast recovery. This quote below says it all.
“There is a saying in Tibetan, 'Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.'
No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that's our real disaster.”
