While everyone was out this past weekend enjoying 4th of July festivities I was moving yet again for the third time in the past 12 months. Today I want to talk about attitude. The old quote "Attitude is everything" is truly one that I love. When life gets crazy it is the way you look at the situation and your attitude that I believe can both positively or negatively effect the outcomes of any situation. Anyone that knows me understands that I am a typical Type A personality who is constantly doing a thousand things at one time. I wouldn't be able to handle two full plates of stuff at all times if it wasn't for my attitude and outlook on life. My motto is the former, positive attitudes during times of change can make things a lot easier in the long run. In the past 12 months the following has happened (all great things mind you) 1. Started a job with a new company, as you all know this is a daunting task in itself for a few reasons a. you need to prove yourself b. in many instances you are learning an entirely new job function even though it may be similar to what you did before c. it takes a year on average based on studies to figure out the way an organization truly ticks to the point where you can feel "comfortable" in what you are doing. 2. Moved from Boston to Georgia for love...after being in love with Boston for my ENTIRE life. Don't worry this week I will be writing about the top ten differences between the North and the South that will sure to have both sides of the Mason Dixon line laughing. 3. Within a month of being in GA got the grand idea to build a house in Augusta because of just how much less expensive it was then the Northeast, so built the house (process in itself) 4. Got engaged, AWESOME SURPRISE! I was sure it wouldn't be until after the Holidays 5. Move number 2 occurred in December after the house was built. 6. Planned a wedding in 7 months 7. 3 Bridal showers, 3 bachelor/bachelorette parties later (John in Vegas and Nashville, me tearing up the karaoke circuit in Boston). 8. John gets amazing career opportunity in Tampa, so here come the Semeraros! 9. Wedding~ best day of our life 10. Honeymoon~ first time without a blackberry glued to my hip in three years (definitely need to leave it at home more often, as do you:) 11. FINALLY ....moved to Tampa have been in a little apartment for three days and are getting somewhat settled. 12. Now trying to decide whether to build again or buy down here to move yet again in 6 months. 13. Last I travel about 80% of the time for work so that is just tiring in itself.
13 major life changing events in a span of 12 months, they were all amazing and we are so blessed for all these exciting opportunities. But the point of this post is that I know out there everyone is busy. We get tired from work, have bad days, have two plates full in this society we live in, but attitude is everything. With a positive attitude you can get through anything, even if you are tired, worn out, and feel that nothing is going right.....if you have a positive attitude you will get through it! With that said if you are in a rut today, or having a tough week, or have a lot going on, don't have a boyfriend and all your friends are getting married so you are down in the dumps, trying to have a baby, trying to find a job, are in a job you hate, are having relationship issues, prego in hot humid weather, feel fat, family issues, have moved three times in a year, financial issues, spell check isn't working on your blog so people think you don't know how to spell....whatever challenge you are facing today, this week, this year take a step back evaluate your attitude, know you can get through it, and take action NOW :) WHY...SIMPLY because "attitude is everything :) "
